I am the Director of Design at Booking.com in Amsterdam. This is my seventh year living in the Netherlands, following stints in New Zealand & Japan.

I graduated from John Moores University with a degree in Japanese & International Business, and from the International School of Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka. During & following my studies I worked as a freelance designer for clients all over the world, focussing on designing & building simple, enjoyable websites - a trade I have now plied for some 15 years.

I am interested in the science of design, and design at scale — two things I am privileged to be able to work on in my job at Booking.com - you can read about Design at Booking.com on our medium publication, booking.design. I also occasionally get asked to talk about design, you can find details of those talks under the presenting tag.

Work aside, I am a keen amateur musician, photographer & twitterer - and when I am not day-dreaming about my next trip somewhere, I’m enjoying travelling with my wife, Victoria.
